Fruit we grow

Cherries

  • Bing- Dark Cherry. Early mid season variety. Robust sweet & tart flavor. A Favorite that everyone asks for by name. Most abundant tree in the orchard. It is a cross of the Black Republican & Royal Ann cherry. Best for eating, preserving or pies. If dried, it gives a unique perk to the traditional chocolate chip cookie.

  • Black Republican- Dark cherry. Late mid season variety. A small, firm, and deep purple in color, with an intense taste. Some people prefer these to Bings. Very rare & old variety and parent of the Bing Cherry. Good for eating or preserving.

  • Brooks- Dark Cherry. Early season variety. Very large cherry with a good balance of sweet and not too tart. Extremely limited quantity in the orchard. Quickly became a favorite over the last few years. Best for eating.

  • Lapin- Dark Cherry. Late season variety. Very similar in taste to Bings with a slightly firmer texture. Can be sweet while still on the redder side. Good for eating, pies and preserving. Favorite for freezing.

  • Rainier- Yellow cherry with pink blush. Late mid season variety. Sweet & bright, sunny flavor due to lower acid. Very delicate and bruises easily. Best for eating fresh, but looks pretty when mixed with a darker cherry in a pie.

  • Skeena- Dark cherry. Late season variety. A medium size sweet cherry with a slightly sharp and tarter flavor. Good for eating fresh or preserved.

  • Tartarian- Very dark Cherry. Early season variety. Very soft and delicate sweet cherry with low acid. Not often found outside of farm sales due to its perishable nature. A favorite cherry of European Immigrants as it reminds them of cherries in Europe. Good for eating, but best for pies & other desserts and makes a wonderful jam.

Apricots

  • Blenheim- Orange/yellow color with slight pink blush and although ripe, can have a slight huee of green at the shoulders. Bold, sweet & tart flavor with floral notes. Well suited for all forms of consumption: Fresh, pies, jams, canned, etc.

  • Golden Sweet- Even medium golden color with slight blush. Sweet & medium tart flavor and slight honey notes. Best for eating fresh, but can be used in pies.
